Fully Understand Closure and Frontal

Nowadays the market is flooded with various vendors providing miscellaneous virgin hair products for people's choice. People don't have to directly dye or curl and risk causing permanent damage on their own natural hair. If they now have a very short hairstyle, they don't have to wait several months for their hair to grow long. However, people sometimes might get confused about products like hair wig, closure and frontal, etc. Here I want to give you a detailed introduction about closure and frontal so that you can better understand and distinguish these two popular products and choose the one that fits you most.
Closure and Frontal
Everyone wants to be special. Buy yourself a hair wig definitely saves you time and money, but by using hair bundles, closure and frontal, you can make yourself a unique wig and style it the way you want.
Now the question is: Which one is best for me? To know this, let's first get full understanding about closure and frontal.
Size
Closure is usually 4''x 4'' inches with a middle part. You can either install it perfectly in the middle part of your crown or you can put it on the side to achieve a side-part look. Also there are closures with free part, "V" part, single part or 3 parts.

As for frontal, it's usually 13''x 4'' inches. As you can see in the picture below, frontal is larger than closure in size. This is because a frontal usually goes from ear to ear, or from temple to temple, and it covers your whole front hairline.

Category
We need to know that closure and frontal are products in general. Both two can be further divided into small categories based on the base material and base size.
In terms of the base material, both closure and frontal can be categorized into lace closure, silk base closure, all lace frontal (also known as 360 lace frontal), silk-based lace frontal as well as all silk frontal. Let's take a further look at each type.
Lace closure
The base of lace closure is lace. Hair strands are rooted through tiny holes. The installation of lace closure is fairly easy and can blend well with your own hair. Lace closure usually is thinner, softer and lays flatter on your head, which allows you to have a more natural hairline. The defect of lace closures is that you will have to do some kind of bleaching or add some material underneath in order to make it look as natural as possible.

Silk base closure
As for silk base closure, the hair strands of it are installed in a silk material which is very skin-like and is strengthened with a piece of lace. Silk base closure tends to last longer and you don't have to bleach it.

360 lace frontal
360 lace frontal is also know as all lace frontal. The picture below shows clearly that 360 lace frontal covers the whole hairline with the middle part of your head left for hair bundles. Just as its name implies, 360 lace frontal is lace-based.

Silk-based lace frontal
The base of this type of frontal combines lace and silk. The silk is 4*4 inches in the middle section while the rest is lace base. Now you can know what all silk frontal might be from its name.

So, let's make a quick conclusion on these lace base and silk base. The picture below clearly shows the difference between lace base and silk base. A normal lace base lays much flatter against and blends better with your own hair, but it looks visible and the knots have to be bleached, while the silk base has the knots hidden and looks like your own scalp. Choose the combination of silk and lace can allow you to have a more natural look.

Closure vs. Frontal, which one should I choose?
Combined with hair bundles, both closure and frontal can be made into a wig. It can also be directly sewn in. But which one is better? Well, it all depends on what you like.
If you are into the simple every day look, you can choose a closure for simply putting a middle part or a side part on. This is convenient and the cost is lower.
If you want more styling options, then choose a frontal. You can freely part your frontal into the way you like and wear pulled back hairstyles without exposing the hair tracks because the frontal covers the whole front hairline. And a 360 lace frontal is even better which covers the entire hairline.
